Howdy to all from Michigan. The land of lakes and pot holes. If for any reason anyone is up this way make sure ya stop in and say Hi!!!
HI Scott: I'm going to my property in Woodland Park Mich, tomorrow. I used to own a polaris ranger it was Michigan legal for the main roads. Now I have a Oreion Reeper it is Indiana plated, I don't know if it's a law that I have to buy a 2 track trail permit. Even though I'm not going to ride on the trails
Reddog You do not have to have the ORV or trail stickers for road use. They only apply when on state land that is designated for ORV use. If plated most fire lanes and such on state land can be driven by a plated vehicle so you should be good.

Heads-up for ATV, UTV and other NON-LSV vehicle owners. This is a link to the Dealer Bulletin put out by the State of Michigan on August 25, 2015. These vehicles can no longer be converted to Street Legal Assembled Vehicles! www.michigan.gov/documents/sos/2015_Dealer_Bulletin_ORV_Assembled_Vehicle_498286_7.pdf This doesn't effect Reeper Owners, but is the reason I bought the Reeper a year ago. It was stalled in the House in January 2014 I think, looks like they shook it loose! They did grandfather the ones that have already been licensed.
And we can thank those that have abused the law for this being passed.
It appears the ATV/UTV industry lobbiest couldn't reverse this law from taking effect.
Good morning Scott. I was complaining about the increase in insurance cost to my daughter and she told me about this. I didn't know she kept up on things like this! On the insurance thing, I'm learning a lot about Michigan insurance and the PIP (no-fault). Found a guy in Grand Rapids that quoted $288/year because mine is titled LSV. He can put it in as a "street legal specialty golf cart", covered like a motorcycle in Michigan. I think I'm going to do it Monday. I checked the underwriters website and they are nationwide and have been around a long time, I'll post details in one of the insurance threads when it's finalized. Have a great day sir.

I was messing around on Facebook this rainy afternoon and found a new Michigan Reeper dealer listed on Oreion Motors page. JR Motorsports, 50 Corporate Drive, Auburn Hills, Michigan. About 10 miles south of me so I took a drive only to find a very large empty building! I called the listed number and the call was returned within the hour. They are not up and running now but are working toward that end, subdividing the building and getting their ducks in a row. They know about the Forum and plan to make contact when they're up and running. They are the only Michigan dealer listed. I'm wishing them the best and look forward to they're opening.
Well, looks like JR Motorsports didn't work out but more good news. Clydes Frame and Wheel in Pontiac, Michigan is waiting for their first shipment of Rebels due in next week. They have one unit now purchased from Suncoast. I invited them to join the forum, hope they do.

2018 Michigan House Bill 5639 will Authorize "Assembled Vehicle Titles and VINs" if passed. This is a give back to what we had before the take away in 2015. Reading some of the information, it doesn't include military vehicles, mini trucks and vehicles without geared differential. My thought is if I should have trouble with the State in the future the Reeper may get a new body or some other mod to qualify for an assembled vehicle VIN. You can read about this Bill and the assembled vehicle requirements on the Michigan.gov website. Just search the Bill number and include Michigan. I just renewed my registration and insurance ( Progressive, second year with them) so I'm pretty sure I'm good for another year.
