Looking at a used Reeper, a 2007 model and trying to decide if it’s something I would be interested in. I have a 2003 Honda Rincon that’s in like new condition that I would be selling as space is becoming an issue for me. I posted in the general section asking for feedback on early models because I have searched the internet and have found info on anything before 2010 non existent. I do have a pic of the one for sale near me but I have not talked to the seller as yet. I think this may be a 2wd model which would make it less desirable for me.
They had to pay jeep off for the models that made their way into the US, however, they still make the same model for the European market today. It's sold under the name of GS Moon. The motor in these models sits sideways with a long runner intake system and in our units, they sit longitudinally in the vehicle with shorter runners. (Notice rear engine cover). With motor sitting sideways it's much harder to set up a 4 wheel drive system in this short of a vehicle. I believe I saw some of these with a 4-speed manual as well, were all of ours are a 5-speed.
Lugnut is pretty dead on. As far as I know they came with 4 speeds and rear wheel drive. I don't think it is possible to convert to 4 wheel as the transmission contains the open differential as in a front drive car only driving the rear. Why the engine is set transversely vs longitudinally. They do not have doors as mentioned. I am not even sure who exactly was importing these back then.
I don't see any issues from FCA or Jeep now as they don't go after then end user. From what I have read the roll hoop in the back on these where plastic over thin metal.
Beyond that I don't know to much more about them. I am interested in where this is for sale and how much, just out of curiosity. The couple I have heard or seen about where in Florida. Do they list miles or any other info?
And welcome to the forum f6john. Good find.
Actually the fact it is a 4 speed may not be all that bad as these are not affected by separate differential gearing. Although that could be a bad thing too depending on ratios.

He has it priced at $5k with “low miles”. I asked if he was original owner and he replied that he was either 2nd or 3rd owner he wasn’t sure. It’s located in the land between the lakes region of Kentucky.
Well, I was too slow, I got back home on Monday and the Reeper sold over the weekend. I really did wan,t to get a up close look but I probably would not have wanted to put $5k in a machine with so many unanswered questions and no 4wd or overdrive.
