Sorry guys I thought my account was active didn't realize it posted as guest. My name is Brandon and I've been back and fourth between an artic cat 1000 and one of the Oreions. I was convienced to get a duraxx then I came across this forum and read alot on the general page it started making me second guess my dicision. Seems like everyone is having a lot of problems with driveshafts and diffs, Just wanting to here from the people that have them and drive them everyday instead of a salesman(not being offinsive I use to be one). We would be running a lot of backroads and bottoms with mud not much rock climbing if at all.
Well some have more trouble than others and if you dunk them in water and muk you will have all the problems that any sport product will have. You must seal out the moister and mud or you will have problems down the road. The air intakes for the motor are way to low for my opinion. The mid bearing will need some attention prion to getting wet and saturated. The bodies need some undercoating and rust proofing in the cab and out underneath the body itself. Wheel axle bearings will need regular attention as well. After that you will need to grease all the connectors in the wire harness as well with dielectric grease. I would recommend cleaning as soon as possible after playing in dirt/mud to keep seals pliable. Almost all of these machines leek at the front of the differentials. Piss poor cheap seals that they know are going to leak from day one and that's why they don't warranty seals on these things. PS the dealers don't like to talk about this as they get stuck as well on replacing anything. The dealer had mine for 3 weeks and did virtually nothing from a list problems. That one pretty much ended our marriage with the dealer.
That would be your decision, as to what your liking is. AC is more durable, but you have to haul it everywhere to use it. I like to drive mine to and from off roading places. I also get to use mine to run to local stores are out to eat like second car. Much nicer than just looking at it in the garage and wishing I could drive places. What State are you in nugget?
